Cotton Fabric Heaband

Supplies
Scissors
Needle & Thread (coordinate with fabric)
3 - Cover Button Size 36 (7/8 inch) wire back
Wide Headband
18" x 24" piece of fabric
Glue Gun

Note: I used different patterns for each flower and mixed things up so if you want to do this here is the fabric breakdown:
Each button: 2" x 2"
Larger flower: 3" x 18"
Smaller flower: 2" x 18"
Heaband: depends on size or your headband but you will need about 4" x 18" piece of fabric

Cut two strips of 2" x 18" fabric for the smaller flowers. Cut one 3" x 18" strip for the larger flower. Take one of the strips and fold the fabric in half width wise and sew a gathering stitch along the unfinished bottom of the strip.

Gather the strip of fabric and tie the end but do not cut the thread. Form a circle with material and stay stitch it in place.

Repeat steps 2 & 3 with the remaining strips of fabric.Cover your buttons with fabric, for instructions refer to the Fabric Button Ha…

Photos are in!

For those of you who follow my blog, you know from earlier this week that I had a photoshoot last Saturday. Well I got the photos today and am super excited! I haven't had a chance to go through all of them but I thought I would share these few...I can't thank Sean Scheidt or my lovely model (and cousin) enough! Not to mention my lovely make up artist, Heather.

Photoshoot excitement!

This past Saturday I had a professional photo shoot to highlight my headbands and I was so excited! Luckily, I have a lovely model/cousin who was more than happy to model for me and my friend Heather who is a makeup artist (and does make up at Kiss n' Make-Up). My friend Jill, from Jill Popowich Designs, volunteered some jewelry and helped out as a helper...it is nice to have great friends and family who are so talented. Because my excitement was bubbling over and I have a slight addiction to my iphone, I took some quick phone shots using Instagram showing a little "behind the scenes" action.

My photographer Sean Scheidt was nothing less than charming and fantastic. He does great work and wears cool shoes as you can see below. You should go check out his blog to see his latest work.

Guinness Shamrock Pin

As a child we always celebrated St. Patrick's day in my house. I remember having a collection of St. Pat's pins that I could wear on my boring school uniform...a new one for each year. To this day I love St. Patrick's day so I decided to make myself a grown up (but fun) shamrock pin.

Supplies
1-bottle of Guinness beer
Green felt
Pin back
Scissors
Needle and thread (match to felt)
Hot glue gun

Drink beer and save bottle cap.Print out the pattern below and cut out 4 large petals, 1 pin cover and 1 base from the felt. (Use the scale to make sure the print out is the correct size).Thread the needle and knot off the end. Put a gather stitch the flat bottom of the small petals until they are all stitched together in a row.

Pull the thread to gather the petals and tie a knot but DO NOT cut the thread yet. Wrap the petals around to start forming the clover and stay stitch it in place, now you can cut the thread.

Glue the round base to the center of the clover.

Glue on the pin in the …

Beer, pizza & crafting!

My girl friend Julie needed a little something extra for an outfit she was putting together. So we had a crafty-beer-pizza night...which is a perfect nite for me. After chit chatting, a brew and sifting through loads of feathers and other supplies this is what we came up with...we both totally love it so I wanted to share what we did. Not bad for a beer and pizza night.

The Perfect Card for a Serial Killer

My husband and I aren't what you would call a lovey couple. So our Valentine's day doesn't usually come with candy hearts with sweet sayings or mushy bad poetry Hallmark cards. Usually I try to make him something or buy him a little something handmade. This year I got him a zombie tshirt from Geek Things on Etsy and decided to make him a card that truly expresses how I feel about him...that I love him to pieces. If you feel the same about your sweetie, feel free to download this artwork and give it to your Valentine.

Click here to download a pdf of this card.

The card should be printed at 100% on letter sized (8.5 x 11) paper. Trim the card using the crop marks and fold in half. The final size is 4.25" x 5.5". I printed my sample on red card stock to give it a little more XOXO. The cards will fit in a standard A2 (4-3/8" x 5-3/4"), however if you do not have an envelope handy you can refer to my Recycled Paper Envelope to create one.
