Another Felt Flower

I know, another felt flower pin tutorial? Well yes, sorry but winter makes me want to work in felt. Nothing warms the cockles like fuzzy, comfy easy to sew felt flowers.

Supplies:
Hot glue gun
1/8 of a yard of three colors of felt
1" pin
Scissors
Button
Needle and Thread
Printer

Print out the pattern below. (Use the scale to make sure the print out is the correct size). Cut out the following using three colors of felt:
1-Base
1-Pin Cover
5-Small Petals that go on the top of the flower
7-Medium Petals in color one, these get wrapped between two large petals
7-Large Petals in color two
7-Large Petals in color three

Thread your needle and knot the end. Taking one of your Medium Felt Petals place it on top of a Large Petal, pinch them together in half (fig. 2A). Using another color large petal, wrap it around the two folded petals making sure it wraps over the "unfolded" side of the two petal cluster (fig. 2B).

Pinching all three petals together at the base, stitch through a…

Quick Felt Bow

When I was a kid my mom always put my hair in a pony tail with a ribbon or bow so to this day I love hair ornaments. And what better accessory for a high bun on your head then putting a big felt bow...it's like your a big present (although my husband would disagree and try to return me…or re-gift me)!

Need a big felt bow? Well here you go, it is super easy…

Supplies
Needle and thread
Scissors
Alligator hair clip
Felt
Printer for pattern

Print out the pattern below. Using the pattern, cut out one of each piece in felt. I used three different colors. (Use the scale to make sure the print out is the correct size).
Thread your needle and run a gather stitch up the center or the bow base. Gather tightly and tie off.

Take the large and small heart and place them on top of each other in the center of the bow base. Take the bow center and wrap it around the center of the bow. On the back side sew the ends of the bow center together.

Slip the alligator clip onto the back, slipping it …

Get the look for less!

I love Lucky Magazine! Nothing is better than opening my mailbox and finding a new issue. Well yesterday I got the new issue and in the back where they have the shopping suggestions for spring I saw these cute wrapped bangles that resembled the wrapped repurposed bangle tutorial that I posted last spring. With a little time and some embroidery floss you can get the look for less by making your own. If you shop around you can make six for under $10! For my Wrapped Bangle tutorial, click here.

Rework Your Necklace!

I have a bunch of cheapy long bead plastic necklaces that I have picked up over the years. You can usually find them at yard sales and thrift store for a quarter. I often put them on then take them right off, until now! Rework your necklaces with a few minutes, some ribbon and a pair of scissors. Here's how:
