Key lime happiness in a glass

I know I don't write too many personal things on my blog but just so you all know I am a basket case. I figure that the first step is to at least admit it. My husband looks at me like I am crazy all the time and he chalks it up to my "artistic" side--whatever. I am easily cry, I cry at movies, cards and those damn St. Jude's commercials...you name it I can tear up over it.

So you can imagine what happens to me when something really crappy happens...I am a hot mess. My husband is the total opposite so when the water works happen he totally looks like a deer in headlights, not knowing what to do or which way to run. Well Darwanism kicked in and Mike (my husband) has developed a coping mechanism—medicinal mixology. Now, every time I get upset my husband whips out an amazing drink! I know this was a long story just to get a recipe for a tasty cocktail but when you have the cocktail it is well worth it.

Needless to say I was upset last night so Mike came up with his version of a key lime martini. He has tried this one on previous occasions using other, sub-standard recipes that were not very good because most curdled when you put the cream with the lime juice--but not this one. Try it out, believe me it will heal—or at least numb—what ails you.

Ingredients:
43 Liquor
Whip Cream vodka
Half-and-half
Key West lime juice
Crushed up graham crackers
Lime (optional garnish)

Mix three parts 43 liquor, three parts Whip Cream Vodka, one part half-and-half and one part Key West lime juice in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Rim glass with crushed graham crackers, pour in cocktail and garnish with a lime.
